Since 1981, stem cell therapy, further known as regenerative medicine, has promoted improved response to diseased, dysfunctional or injured tissues utilizing stem cells. In other words, in tissues such as bone and muscle, stem cells of adults (somatic stem cells) can create substitutions for bone and muscle cells that are lost due to injury, disease, wear and tear.

According to the National Foundation of Stem Cells, stem cells are known as core body cells because they have the ability to grow into any type of cell in the body to repair or replace damaged cells which may arise due to injury or disease. These cells serve as “specialized” cells that make organs and tissues, providing lasting treatment for chronic diseases affecting millions of people globally.

What does PRP therapy include?

Researchers prepare stem cells in the lab and manipulated by specializing in specific types of cells, such as heart muscle cells, blood cells, or nerve cells. Although stem cell therapy requires invasive surgery, and stem cells are called cells derived from placenta mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs), they are pre-prepared and injected directly into the area of pain or injury, joint, ligament or tendon.

Depending on the severity of your problem, local anesthesia can be applied to reduce pain during the procedure. The purpose of this process is merely to relieve pain, while new stem cells encourage the body to repair and cure faster, creating healthy tissue. Stem cell therapy has recently been a reversal in the field of medicine, especially in the area of orthopedics due to the potential of stem cells to treat pain from arthritis and other chronic and acute pains of other orthopedic injuries.

Benefits of Stem Cell Therapy:

  • Quick relief of pain
  • It promotes healing without surgery
  • It helps in the regeneration of healthy tissues.
  • There is no stumbling block
  • Less risk of surgery.

The doctor refuses to give me stronger cortisone shot that will work yet instead he keeps giving me the same dam shot that doesn't work my knee is still stiff and swollen can't bend my knee it's hard to walk up the stairs I know about the gel I don't need the gel I just want the inflammation off my knee I will not be returning or refer any one to this place thanks for nothing Dr Droullin
Dr. Schweller was great, he was very thorough in hus examination and testing of my foot and listened carefully to the issues I'd been having. He gave options for the treatment plan for my issue (mortons neuroma) and was a great coach through the steroid injection and even went to get my husband to come back and hold my hand through it. He told me exactly what to expect and reminded me to breathe. I have steps to help manage and a follow up plan if it doesn't improve as expected. 10/10 would reccomend to anyone needing an orthos care.
Dr Schweller was very pleasant, understanding and explained my hand and elbow injuries. All of his assistants were kind and considerate.
Appointment was 1:20 was called back at 1:25 there was no waiting everything went like clockwork. Saw Dr Schweller. He was so nice great bedside manner.
